Come and relax at Fellside holiday cottages, on the lower slopes of Catbells with stunning views of Derwentwater and the Borrowdale fells and valley.  Set in 8 acres of private woodland gardens, home to the red squirrels.  The cottages are 4 miles from Keswick and a 10 minute walk to Derwentwater.  There is direct access straight onto the fells and lakeshore through a private gate in the garden.

 

Derwentwater lies to the south of Keswick, and Manesty is situated at the western side of the lake. The Borrowdale valley runs beside the lake and down to the Honister Pass which leads to Buttermere.

 

It is a beautiful part of the Lake District.  There is much to see and do in the area including walking, cycling and sailing in addition to many interesting places to visit.  The market town of Keswick is 15 minutes drive away from the cottage and has plenty of shops, pubs and restuaruants, and entertainment including The Theatre by the Lake, leisure pool, climbing wall and cinema.

Sleeps 2/6 people, 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms one with ensuite shower room, there is also a family bathroom.  The farmhouse kitchen/dining room is well equipped with oven/hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge freezer and large pine dining table.  There is also a spacious lounge with tv/dvd player with access straight onto the terrace with garden furniture and BBQ.  All the accommodation is on the ground floor. Central heated. The Lodge is semi detached and sits at the top of the garden.  Quality Cumbria inspected.

Sleeps 2/4 people 1 double bedroom and a twin bedroom and a family bathroom, there is a comfortable lounge with  open fire, logs supplied, there is a tv/dvd player. The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with oven/hob, dishwasher and fridge & freezer also a washing machine and dishwasher. The patio area faces south looking down the Borrowdale Valley. Central heated. Quality Cumbria inspected
 
 
The Coach House
 
Sleeps 2/4 people, 1 double bedroom and a twin bedroom and a bathroom.  There is a large living/dining room with a french door opening onto the patio and the garden. A modern kitchen which is fully equipped with oven/hob, fridge & freezer, dishwasher, washing machine & microwave. The cottage is equipped with tv and dvd player. The Coach House is semi detached, Central heated. Quality Cumbria inspected.
 
 
Fellside Cottage
 
Sleeps 2/6 people 1 double bedroom and a twin bedroom on the ground floor, and a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room upstairs.  There is a large family bathroom down stairs,with bath and seperate shower cubicle. There is a spacious kitchen which is well equipped with oven/hob, washer, microwave and fridge freezer. The lounge/dining room faces down the Borrowdale Valley, and there are french doors which open onto the patio area. Fellside Cottage is semi-detached and central heated.

Welcome to our Pet Friendly Lake District Cottages

Rowling End House and Mouse House are at a superb location in The Newlands Valley overlooking Catbells, near Keswick in the Lake District. They both offer very high quality self catering holiday accommodation, with the Farm House sleeping 8 and the Mouse House sleeping 2. The cottages can be booked separately or together, providing large self catering for up to 10 people. Pets and dogs are welcome at both our these Lake District Cottages.

The House awaiting inspection; this cottage has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 people. In summary the self catering accommodation includes:

  • 4 bedrooms, 2 with ensuite bathrooms (2 king sized doubles and 2 twins).

  • An additional large family bathroom with shower and roll top free standing bath.

  • 2 lounges to relax in with open fires (logs supplied) and TV & DVD players.

  • A kitchen/dining room with oil fuelled Aga, also an electric oven and hob, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher & microwave and a large dining table.

  • A Drying room/utility room for outdoor gear, also with a washer and dryer.

  • A further cloak room with WC and wash basin.

  • Outside the cottage there is a storage shed for the logs (which are supplied) and a storage shed for bikes.

This large cottage is perfect for families or groups of friends looking to explore the Lake District. It has full central heating and dogs are welcome.

The Mouse House 4 stars; this cottage has one bedroom and sleeps 1 to 2 people. In summary this cottage includes:

  • A bedroom on the top floor with a zip bed so you can request either a king size bed or 2 single beds.

  • A large shower room with walk in shower, sink and WC.

  • An open plan lounge with a TV and DVD Player.

  • A kitchen (open plan with the lounge) which has a built in oven, grill, microwave & hob, fridge with freezer and dishwasher also a washer/dryer.

This cosy cottage for two is perfect for romantic breaks in the Lake District, singles or friends. The cottage is fully central heated and pets are welcome.

Our Lake District Location

Rowling End  House and Mouse House are set in private grounds in the Newlands Valley, near Keswick, in Cumbria, the Lake District. The cottages face Catbells and Maiden Moor, and Newlands beck runs through the grounds.  Set in private grounds with gardens and woodland home to the deer, red squirrels and much more wild life.

This is a beautiful scenic part of the Lake District, 4 miles from Keswick, and 2 miles from Braithwaite. Both properties provide an ideal base for your Lakeland holiday in a perfect setting. The local bar and restaurant is just a short walk from the cottages.

More Information and Booking our Holiday Cottages

Please note that when the renovation is complete it is anticipated that these Lake District Cottages will be awarded a minimum of 4 stars.

The holiday cottages can be booked individually or together, providing flexible accommodation for 2, 4, 6, 8 or large groups of up to 10 people.

Bookings at our holiday cottages will be Friday to Friday.  Short breaks are available through the winter from November.

BOOKINGS ARE FRIDAY THROUGH TO FRIDAY
 
A deposit of £100.00 per week is required with your booking form, the remainder will be due 6 weeks before your holiday with a £100.00  good housekeeping bond (we do not cash this cheque, it will be returned to you after your holiday).
 
Dogs are £20.00 per week.
 
All heating/electricity and bedding/towels are included in the price.
